Arguably Rosedale’s best pub, its name is a reference to the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion, which took place along a nearby stretch of Yonge Street. And, true to its name, the wood-trimmed watering hole is determinedly patriotic: it features 30 Ontario beers (plus 16 microbrews on tap) and Ontario wines, plus the de rigueur Guinness. Regulars rub elbows in the tight den; a fireplace adds coziness to the upstairs dining room. Local artwork lines the walls and changes regularly, unlike the rest of the place, which oozes a reliable, Old Faithful charm.
