The Painted Lady

If Dita Von Teese had a T.O. hang, this would likely be it. The walls of this narrow bar are thickly covered with pin-up kitsch, and the tiny stage sports a backdrop plucked from Baby Dolls, the strip club that used to be across the street. Vintage chandeliers, red velvet drapes and abundant mirrors complete the look. The 10 taps pour Creemore, Tankhouse Ale and Weihenstephan (“the world’s oldest beer”), and a tiny, eccentric menu features a decent pulled pork sandwich with homemade barbecue sauce ($7.95) and White Trash nachos (Fritos slathered with Cheez-Whiz and homemade chili, $5.75). Staffers are particularly sweet, even letting regulars take to the stage for impromptu karaoke sessions.
