A sign outside this cozy west-end watering hole declares that it’s Etobicoke’s oldest—and friendliest—pub. Inside, the vibe is unassuming and casual, and the decor (dark and cavernous, in the mode of most Irish pubs) has more character than the Firkin chain. Walls are festooned with photos of patrons enjoying the nightly musical entertainment; karaoke nights are Tuesday and Sunday. The dressed-down clientele, which ranges in age from students to seniors and is mostly from the neighbouring Kingsway area, is here to sing, snack and socialize. There are nine beers on tap (domestic, imported and premium, $5–$7.25); cheap pub grub includes chicken wings ($10–$14) and burgers ($9–$10).
