Loons Restaurant & Pub

The beautiful etched-glass exterior makes a great first impression, and Loons lives up to its promise. The consummate neighbourhood watering hole, this Roncesvalles pub draws its fair share of regulars. The bartender seems to know everyone by name (or at least by their drink order), and there’s always a friendly crowd on hand for an after-work pint. Framed newspaper clippings featuring local lore add to the community feel. Active types partake in rousing shuffleboard sessions, compete in video-golf tournaments and play DJ on the jukebox; you can also catch the game on one of six TVs. Sports-themed events and live Friday music jams (where patrons can join in) add variety. The kitchen dishes up standard pub fare—burgers, onion rings—along with pierogies (this is Roncey, after all). Thirteen beers and ales on tap include Guinness and Caffrey’s, plus plenty of domestic brews. A backyard patio with a heated section seats 90.
