Sleek and stylish, this Asian pub is always buzzing at night, with a young Leslieville crowd sitting pretty in banquettes and blond wood chairs. The combination of dim lighting and cool tunes (a mix of indie rock and electro) is conducive to both dates and chill-out sessions. Sports fans can catch Leafs games on two (mute) televisions; Tuesday night features foreign films; music videos play the rest of the time. But most people are here for the cocktails. The hugely popular sake martinis are a signature drink; Lycheewan is a refreshing blend of sake and lychee liqueur and juice. Asian beers are well represented, from Thailand’s Singha Lager to Japan’s Asahi Black; Kubo Lager (from Wellington Brewery) is a fine match for the food. The kitchen sends forth well-prepared pub fare with an Asian twist. The kitchen closes at 10 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, 11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.
