Without a reservation, you’ll need the luck of the Irish to get a table at this after-work favourite in a 19th-century bank building. But a wait at the bar may provide its own pot of gold: a stock tip from a Bay Street regular. The menu offers pub essentials, and then some. Bison meatballs ($9) are the perfect mates for a pint of Guinness, one of 19 beers on tap. The fish and chips ($15) rivals Toronto’s best.
