The bar pickings at Bathurst and Bloor may be slim, but for night owls, Insomnia is the winner by more than just default, balancing neighbourly service with a hip, laid-back vibe. Although the decor is basic (exposed brick, twinkle lights), the drinks list is anything but. There are more than 40 martinis ($8.50–$11); on Thursday, regular martinis are $5.50 and premiums are $6.50, including the beloved Diva (Skyy vodka, Alizé Red Passion, grapefruit and cranberry juices, and a splash of champagne). More than 200 types of liquors and liqueurs are available.
