This small, out-of-the-way saloon is owned by Katie Sketch and Jenny Smyth, ex of Vancouver girl group The Organ, so it’s no wonder it has such a kick-ass jukebox. One Thursday night’s musical selection includes Electrelane, Nico and Elton John, a perfect aural backdrop for the West Queer West crowd that has adopted the place, happily avoiding the suburbanites now crowding the bars on Queen and Ossington. The drink selection is minimal—there’s only one beer on tap, Cameron’s Lager—but the prices are reasonable (about $5 a pint). The decor has the feel of Grandma’s cozy kitchen.
