After 26 years in business, The Feathers just keeps getting better. An impressive dark mahogany bar runs almost the length of the place—its sheer enormity is necessary to accommodate the large number of taps (23) and single malts (400 to 450). Judging by accents, British expats feel at home here. It’s probably the superb beer selection: if you ask, a waitress will wax poetic about the hand-pulled Wellington County Ale or talk knowledgeably about the range of microbrews and imports. The menu is stacked with traditional English grub: bangers and mash, liver and onions, homemade bread-and-butter pudding. Live bands draw a crowd on Saturday nights from September to May.
