An amiable annex to the grand (and often echoey) Irish Embassy (at right), the lounge offers the same menu and drinks, but with an ambience more conducive to conversation. Hand-carved mahogany wainscotting wraps the room; photos of Yeats, Wilde, Joyce and other Irish scribes decorate the walls. Hockey and basketball games keep the place hopping. The list of whiskeys is long, and there are plenty of beers on tap, including all the Anglo-Irish standards. Service is on the ball. 49 Yonge St. (at Wellington St.), 416-866-8282. N
