Quite possibly the most hyped relaunch in the city, ever. After a $6-million restoration, the Drake Hotel became an instant it spot when it opened in February 2004. All traces of its sad days as a flophouse have been eradicated, but there is a sense of connection to its 1940s self, when it was an upscale respite. It caters to the hip hordes that appreciate the fantastic bar and trendy decor (terrazzo floors, mahogany wainscotting and digitally projected art installations). Cover varies for downstairs events.
