The sign out front says “Ted’s Collision and Body Repair,” but for the nine years since Ted Footman—he of Ted’s Wrecking Yard—sold the business, this College Street institution has been simply called Collision. The flea market furniture, church pew–style benches and single pool table (at $2 a game, a throwback in its own right) remain as they’ve been since the bar was established in 1995. The candlelit watering hole caters to a crowd of regulars looking for a tasty pint (eight beers on tap, $5.50–$6.50), a shot of Jägermeister and some good old-fashioned rock ’n’ roll. Collision has neither shooter specials nor hipster DJs—it doesn’t need them.
