Chick ’n’ Deli

Once known for its jazz, this Mount Pleasant landmark now confines the improvised stuff to Saturday afternoons (Dixieland with the Climax Jazz Band) and Mondays (big bands). The rest of the time, it’s a party-hearty venue, popular with groups, birthday parties and, on weekends, 30-something singles (who come to drink beer and snack on the joint’s famous wings, 10 for $9). Bands cover Top 40 hits from Thursday to Saturday, and a singer leads Jam Night on Tuesdays. Of the 13 beers on tap, mainstream faves Canadian and Coors Light ($5.50) are the biggest sellers, but there are also slightly more refined options, like Creemore and Kilkenny. Glass garage-style doors open onto a sidewalk patio in summer.

  • Kitchen open past midnight on weekends
