Once known for its jazz, this Mount Pleasant landmark now confines the improvised stuff to Saturday afternoon (Dixieland with the Climax Jazz Band) and the first three Mondays of every month (big bands). The rest of the time it’s a party-hearty venue, popular with groups, birthday parties and, on weekends, 30-something singles (who come to drink beer and snack on the joint’s famous wings, 10 for $9). Bands cover Top 40 hits from Thursday to Saturday, and a singer leads Jam Night on Tuesday. Of the 13 beers on tap, mainstream faves Canadian and Coors Light ($5.50) are the biggest sellers, but there’s everything from Creemore to Kilkenny on offer. Glass garage-style doors open onto a sidewalk patio in summer.
