C'est What?

Nestled below street level, this cozy pub is divided into two rooms. Beer is the house act; the 35-plus indie brews on tap include Black Oak, Steam Whistle and six house quaffs. The food keeps time with garlicky dips, spicy curries and a celebrated lamb burger, all of it greasy in a good way. An artichoke parmesan dip ($8) spreads nicely over warm pita. In mains, Le Grand Shepherd—$11 for a hefty serving of shepherd’s pie topped with cheddar—is satisfying hibernation food.
