This basement dive may be the least expensive place to drink on College, so it stands to reason that it’s also one of the scuzziest. At small, crowded tables, impoverished undergrads sit cheek by jowl with other undesirables (on one night, a neighbour’s conversation turned to the money he owed a loan shark), all sipping cheap draft (pitchers are $8.62, and a between-paycheques-pleasing $6.96 Sunday through Tuesday). A heated patio in the back is no less grubby, but at least allows for relatively fresh air.
