This Queen Street institution speaks a language you already understand, even if you have just a passing familiarity with the neighbourhood’s haunts. It comes complete with the requisite minimalist chic and cool clientele; the long, narrow resto-bar can barely contain the black-clad crowd, which sways to acid jazz, blues and chill-out music. At the front, customers sit facing each other over the marble-topped bar. Outside, the front patio offers views of local shops, galleries and passing shoppers, while the quieter back terrace is a little urban oasis.
