In keeping with the west-end hipster predilection for retro signage, a garish neon logo out front suggests Vietnamese karaoke. Inside, staff and customers are almost indistinguishable (they’re all in their 20s and 30s, and all cool and casual as cucumbers), making this recent arrival as intimate as a student apartment, but twice as cool. Guys in appliquéd blazers and chicks channelling Annie Hall sip cocktails, while a behatted DJ steers clear of mainstream standards—think college radio or CBC’s The Signal. A patio is slated to open this summer.
