In the same block as Xacutti, Teatro and Bird, this new kid makes all the right resto-lounge moves—lascivious paintings, lots of elegant flowers, soulful lounge music—and even attempts the requisite nod to the ’60s with Saarinen-style white chairs in the dining section to the rear. A study in neutrals (cream stools, dark wood floors), the bar is a bit tame, the only touch of theatre being a banquette with a sky-high back. Still, the libations are all in order, with Veuve Clicquot by the glass ($20), 11 other wines also by the glass ($7–$13) and 10 scotches. The usual flotilla of fancy martinis ($10–$13) includes the peach cosmo and the Pom martini (vodka, Cointreau, Grand Marnier and pomegranate juice).
