On Friday night, the tricked-out strollers parked out front hint at this bustling spot’s clientele. Inside, north Toronto parents and tots chow down on fish and chips; older patrons are lured by reliable gastro-pub fare, including lamb sausages and spicy beef vindaloo. Crowds hang out at the bar, where they can choose from eight wines by the six-ounce glass ($7–$10) and 11 domestic and imported beers on tap. The cozy decor features gleaming dark wood floors. Those who prefer to avoid yelping youngsters should arrive after 8 p.m.; on winter weekends, expect to wait in line, but the crowds thin out somewhat in summertime when locals head to their cottages.
