Our driving need to tame the beast within (and without) has a long, illustrious history. Kingston-based author Helen Humphreys put her literary two cents in with her award-winning novel, which is being adapted here by Nightwood Theatre. Love, loss and violence— the usual—make up this tale about a motley crew of villagers who form unlikely relationships during their nightly meetings to woo their suddenly wayward pets home. But for some, human and otherwise, the call of the wild proves too strong. Kelly Thornton directs Les Carlson, Raven Dauda and Tamara Podemski.—Stéphanie Verge
