The unlikely friendship between a Montreal student and a former prime minister hits the mainstage in this remount of Brooke Johnson’s 2007 Summerworks show. Based on her 15-year friendship with Pierre Elliott Trudeau, which began when she was studying at the National Theatre School in the 1980s, Johnson’s one-woman show leans on her memories, letters and diary entries to give the audience a glimpse into the life and times of one of the most famous figures in Canadian history. Previews from Nov. 14.—Stéphanie Verge
