The casting of real-life mother and daughter Dawn Greenhalgh and Megan Follows brings an added frisson of authenticity to Soulpepper’s production of Marsha Norman’s multiple award winner (Pulitzer, Tony, Drama Desk, you name it). Follows plays Jessie Cates, the damaged child of Greenhalgh’s messed-up matriarch Thelma, as they face off over one’s seemingly unimaginable decision to do herself in. Alisa Palmer directs.
