Widely considered one of the most perfect musicals out there, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s take on the Shavian play Pygmalion is touring North America following an award-winning run in London’s West End. With a nod to the George Cukor film adaptation, Marni Nixon—who sang the part of Eliza Doolittle when Audrey Hepburn’s voice was deemed substandard—plays Mrs. Higgins. Cameron Mackintosh directs Christopher Cazenove and Lisa O’Hare as phonetics-loving Professor Henry Higgins and cockney flower girl Eliza. Preview May 8.—Stéphanie Verge
