This optional double bill focuses on the Indian experience from a female point of view. Anita Majumdar’s The Misfit is the second play in a trilogy kicked off in 2006 with Fish Eyes. Building on its main character’s love of dance, The Misfit follows a classical Indian dancer who works MTV-style weddings. The multi-tasking Majumdar takes on all six roles. Mark Cassidy directs. The Kolkata-set Pyaasa tells the story of a young untouchable Hindu girl whose mother secures her a job through a higher-caste woman at a tea stall. Thomas Morgan Jones directs.
