Paul Ledoux and David Young’s 1985 jukebox musical gets a high-profile revival at Canadian Stage and Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre this year. The creators of last fall’s Still Desire You use old-school tunes—“Great Balls of Fire,” for one—in this tale of Herchel and Cale, the diametrically opposed sons of a preacher man. (The similarities between these two and real-life cousins rock and roller Jerry Lee Lewis and evangelist Jimmy Swaggart is completely intentional.) James MacDonald directs Ted Dykstra, Martin Julien and Richard McMillan. Previews from March 24.—Stéphanie Verge
