Having already impressed Montreal audiences at last June’s Festival TransAmériques, Daniel Brooks brings the latest Necessary Angel offering to Buddies for its Toronto premiere. A cautionary tale about such civilization enders as overpopulation, global warming and widespread wastefulness, The Eco Show demonstrates how these phenomena affect one family’s delicate balance. Trust the massively talented Brooks to jump on the green bandwagon in a way that simultaneously skewers the movement and elevates it. Richard Clarkin, Joe Cobden, Fiona Highet and Jenny Young star. Previews from May 13.—Stéphanie Verge
