A creative re-imagining of Samuel Beckett’s waiting-game masterpiece, Brendan Gall’s play situates two crooked cops—shades of Vladimir and Estragon—in present-day New York. The mysterious title character (played by Alon Nashman) actually appears in this version, flummoxing the hapless pair with his existential turns of phrase. Richard Rose also directs Paul Braunstein, David Ferry, Tony Nappo and Geoffrey Pounsett. Previews from April 22.—Stéphanie Verge
