Short of pulling a Jules Verne and venturing around the world yourself, this two-day fest is the month’s best travel plan for adventurous listeners. Ethnomusicologist Rob Simms presents midday and evening performances highlighting many of the styles taught at York’s globally minded music department. Ensembles perform pieces from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America with the help of such local luminaries as the Samba Squad’s Rick Shadrach Lazar and flamenco guitarist Roger Scannura.
