When the scruffy Montrealer’s indie hit “Brother Down” became a mainstream staple in 2002, Junos and platinum sales quickly followed. Roberts lost some of that momentum when Chemical City (2006) failed to charm audiences to the same degree, but on the new Love at the End of the World (2008), he and his band sound recharged. One of the top acts at Edgefest 2008, he performs alongside Stone Temple Pilots and Linkin Park. — Jason Anderson
