Lykke Li is one of a wave of new Swedish singers (including recent Madonna tourmate Robyn) to put a fresh spin on modern pop tropes. Produced by Björn Yttling of indie fave Peter, Björn and John, the precocious 22-year-old’s debut album, Youth Novels (2008), is an engaging set of forlorn love songs, Björky abstractions and up-tempo numbers. In a more just universe, “Little Bit,” one of those irresistibly perfect singles, would be played by every radio station.—Jason Anderson
