The Vancouver-based duo Japandroids makes the racket of 10 men. Luckily, there are plenty of hooks discernible in all that noise, which is why the band’s 2009 debut disc, Post-Nothing, was a firm favourite with indie rockers. Their Swedish tour mates, Love Is All, invest an equally scrappy garage-rock sound with a sense of pop grandeur gleaned from Phil Spector.—Jason Anderson
