Hedley has been the most successful Canadian pop act to benefit from Canadian Idol. Though the B.C.-based band’s witty singer, Jacob Hoggard, only placed third in the show’s second season, he has nonetheless avoided the early career flame-outs suffered by the first-place winners. Instead, Hedley ranks with Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy in the affections of teenaged fans.—Jason Anderson
