Hawksley Workman

Always prolific—12 albums in as many years—this local singer-songwriter has outdone himself, putting out two discs’ worth of new music since the beginning of the year. While Meat had a conventional release in January, the 12 songs on Milk have gradually surfaced in digital-only form over the past few months. Highlights include the retro techno-pop of Milk’s “We Dance to Yesterday” and the TV on the Radio–like avant-rock on Meat’s “We’ll Make Time (Even When There Ain’t No Time)."—Jason Anderson
