The Many Moods of Blue Rodeo might’ve been a suitable alternate title for The Things We Left Behind (2009), the latest double album by the Toronto roots-rock institution. The band’s 12th studio recording since 1987 captures the boys in a free-ranging and freewheeling mood. With songs ranging from sweet ballads like “Waiting for the World” to a sprawling psychedelic rocker named “Venus Rising,” it features some of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor’s boldest work thus far.—Jason Anderson
