Now in its sixth year, the Beats, Breaks and Culture weekend at Harbourfront draws the coolest of the city’s cool several blocks south of their usual haunts. It’s easy to see and hear why, what with live performances by local groove machine Holy Fuck and propulsive art-rock renegades DD/MM/YYYY, and such events as Pop, Lock and Load (a reliably awe-inspiring breakdancing competition), and Beats, Breaks and Karaoke (a special edition of the unstoppable Hip-Hop Karaoke night). —Jason Anderson
