This show is something of a 50th birthday party for Marsalis, whose eloquence, both on the trumpet and as a spokesperson for jazz, has made him one of America’s most venerable cultural ambassadors. Marsalis will perform some of his greatest hits, along with selections by jazz masters like Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington and John Coltrane.
