Clarinetist Bob DeAngelis leads his Champagne Symphony Pops Orchestra in this invocation of the swing era, looking back some 70 years to the ebullient music that levitated the Great Depression. Trumpeter John MacLeod, whose command of the idiom is apparent in his work with Jim Galloway, is supplying arrangements for an ensemble that blends symphony and jazz musicians, while Melissa Stylianou and Robin Langdon contribute vocals. Among the period tunes associated with Goodman and his era are “After You’ve Gone,” “Stompin’ at the Savoy,” “Air Mail Special,” “Bugle Call Rag” and Louis Prima’s classic “Sing Sing Sing.” 416-872-4255.—Stuart Broomer
