A master of musical understatement, Ingrid Jensen is an introspective trumpeter who plays counter to her instrument’s brassy expectations. As well as leading her own group, Jensen is a key component of two leading New York bands: Maria Schneider Orchestra and Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society. She’s joined here by her similarly thoughtful sister, saxophonist Christine Jensen.—Stuart Broom
