Home Smith Bar: December

Combining the vocals of Jeanine Mackie and the saxophone of Pat Perez, Blue Martini Jazz creates classic late-night lounge music, as their debut CD The Night We Called It a Day consummately demonstrates. Whether they’re covering material associated with Nancy Wilson, Miles Davis or Joni Mitchell, the two manage to imbue it with their own definite mark. They’re joined here by pianist Brian Dickinson and bassist Paul Novotny, Dec. 20.
