This homage to "Sir Duke" stars bassist John Lamb, who played in Ellington’s orchestra for over a decade and was also featured on trio recordings by the jazz master. The group is led by another veteran of big bands: trombonist Russ Little, who apprenticed with Woody Herman and Count Basie.—Stuart Broomer
