Cesaria Evora has become a Toronto favourite, appearing at local venues almost annually. Her deeply personal style has its roots in the morna music of her native Cape Verde, but Evora’s work is a fusion of many traditions, emphasizing common elements that span Portuguese fado, Brazilian samba and American blues.
