Improvisation—the very soul of jazz—gets a healthy workout from a team of U of T faculty members who also happen to be among the city’s venerables when it comes to Juno Awards and nominations. The standards on the program won’t sound quite so standard in the hands of Andrew Downing on bass, Jim Lewis on trumpet, David Occhipinti on guitar and Nick Fraser on drums.
