Veering into the realms of politics and lifestyle, this 24th annual event features an animal-rights speaker discussing farming and the environment, and exhibitors showing various green products. Food, however, remains the key theme: cooking demos and samples, plus reasonably priced meals of the Indian, Italian, Chinese and Persian persuasion, among others. You don’t have to be a rice-cooking hippie to attend; up-and-coming Toronto chef Jae Steele proves veganism can be cool.—Brent Ledger
