Toronto Ukrainian Festival

  • Various Locations
There is no doubting the authenticity of this fest: the politician-heavy Saturday morning parade runs past the Ukrainian embassy on Bloor Street; the beer garden serves Slavutich and Lvivske; and the really big stage at Jane and Bloor is tailor-made for folk dancing. Back from its one-year exile at Harbourfront, the popular street party draws 300,000-plus people with a mix of visual art, polka bands, karate demos, a midway and, of course, the wares of area restaurants. Bloor St. W., from Runnymede Rd. to Jane St.—Brent Ledger
