Focused on sacred spaces, the ninth annual tour of local historical buildings includes a $40-million Hindu temple built of limestone and marble (the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir near Finch and Highway 427) and the city’s only Reconstructionist synagogue, Congregation Darchei Noam at 864 Sheppard Avenue West. Also making the cut: a downtown mosque, an Arts and Crafts church (St. Simon-the-Apostle), a Quaker meeting house, and the Trinity Square labyrinth. Old stalwarts such as Osgoode Hall, Old City Hall and the Arts & Letters Club are also part of the itinerary, which includes a grand total of 140 edifices.—Brent Ledger
