Layali Arabesque

Every Friday night, this east-end series recreates the atmosphere of a Cairo nightclub, complete with a live Arabic band using traditional instruments. The featured solo belly dancer—usually a member of the Arabesque Dance Company—performs half-hour sets of both the traditional Egyptian cabaret and folklore style.—Paula Citron
