Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival: Dance Initiative

A new addition to the Fringe, the Dance Initiative offers nine dedicated slots for choreography. As with the rest of the Fringe’s events, artists are chosen by lottery. Save Montreal’s top-notch breaker group Solid State Breakdance, all Dance Initiative participants are from Toronto: Elizabeth Dawn Snell, Andrea Ann and Aluisa Almada (Artists’ Play Collective); Heather Saum (Collective Heat); Carlynn Reed and Jonathon Neville (Imagiscape); Darby Gibbs, Amelia Josephson-Laidlaw and Ming Hon (Madam); Michael Caldwell; Niki Woeniak (Desiraeda Dance Theatre); Brian Solomon; and MaryAnne Campbell (MAC Dance Initiative). —Paula Citron
