Ken Gass’s wordless 1970 play Light serves as the inspi-ration for Heidi Strauss’s new work, This Time. Veteran dancers Brendan Wyatt and Justine Chambers show a couple caught in a vortex of mounting tension that drives them both to seek escape at the other’s expense. April 1 to 11. Denise Clarke, Calgary’s darkly humorous queen of dance theatre, is back in town with A Fabulous Disaster, which sounds like vintage One Yellow Rabbit: a wildfire strands a jilted woman in a forest while she’s trying to save a bunch of animals.
