Ballet Jörgen Canada’s Ballet in the Park

  • Etienne Brulé Park
Last year BJC experimented with staging full-length ballets in public parks—portable sprung flooring, lighting equipment, lavish costumes and dressing rooms included—and ended up attracting huge audiences. This summer’s bill features a children’s matinee of Benjamin Hatcher’s The Emperor’s New Clothes, as well as an evening showing of Bengt Jörgen’s Romeo and Juliet, set to Sergei Prokofiev’s famous score. —Paula Citron
