The title of this show, Jamra, is the Arabic word for “embers”—fitting, as it evokes the smouldering eroticism we associate with the dance worlds of the nomadic peoples of Egypt, Iran and elsewhere. The orchestra sets the tone; the dancers provide the swirl, the colour and the heat.
